I'm not sure if my Hanaa was more tired than her mom or myself, but she sure was happy playing at Kiz Sports. I'm preparing a couple of photos taken during Hanaa's 2nd visit there but here's the first. (You probably would have to click on the photo to see Hanaa's expression in the larger sized format.)

It's Family Time
I've been working and working and working. Sometimes even working from home, rooted in front of my computer, as my wife puts it. All for what? The intention was to gain something from work: promotion, more money, good prospects and steady income. But I got none of those, and instead, loss all of those and more. The most important thing I lost from having overtaxed myself at work is "quality time".
Catching up somewhat on family quality time, I see that the quirkiness and deviousness of my daughter has exponentially increased. I've also learned that I'm easily bribed. All Hanaa has to say is, "Daddiiiiiiii...," which she is quite adapt at already. That, and when she lands me a kiss or two out of the blue, pretty much means she gets her slave to do whatever she wants.
She had to wear a Nike, replacing her old fav Crocs, cause the next upgrade size was too much bigger. So now she would grab her Nike's whenever someone heads to the door and try to get into them so she could follow. Her idea of "good" time, is "go out" time.
Next post, I hope to get some pics of her while she is having her jolly good time at Kiz Sports. She really is one active girl. Has more energy in her than in both her parents combined.

11kg! Take a look!
Oh how my Hanaa has grown! Let me elaborate on that just a bit.
In the last month, Hanaa has put on 1kg. Rapid, considering the past 2 months her weight hovered at barely 10kg. But where did the new 1kg go? Some additional new teeth, 1 centimetre taller, but mostly several centimetres of girth ie. spare tyre and padding. She FILLS out her clothes pretty well now, and we had to buy more for her.

With the Bite...
... comes the demands for rice. Hanaa's now wants rice and whatever you are eating, not the nutritious porridge her mommy cooked for her. So now, Mommy and Porpor all have to switch and adapt to her new demands just to get some food in.
In part, she has teething problems. Literally. Sometimes I think her gums are tender and the reason why she refuses any food but drinks lots. Sometimes I think the gums itch with new teeth trying to come out, which is when she wants a bite.
So now, you'll see her in the baby chair at restaurants waiting for rice.

하나
My first. She has the gaze of her Daddy, you think? According to Pride and Ego, yes. Yes, she does.
The Princess is now 16.5 months. I've been asked, can she walk? Can she speak yet? Is she a good girl? Does she sleep well? In answer, yes, she walks. She runs. She recently got her 2nd pair of Crocs. She loves her Crocs. On trying on the first pair, and again when buying the 2nd pair, she couldn't wait to get into them and once in, she ran and laughed. Her Mommy and Daddy loves Crocs, too, since they are meant to be worn loose, they are very good for fast growing little ones: they don't chaff on the feet so soon and yet they aren't loose in a way that the little one would have difficulty walking with, and they generally serve a longer duration as compared to non-Crocs.
She still can NOT speak clearly. Still in her own coded language. Maybe she will start soon. Sometimes, on rare occassion, she would deign to speak in our language and call "Da da da da da da.... daddy" or "Maaaaa!".
She's a good girl..... most of the time. To me, very good girl. She needs to do a bit more to pass her Daddy's outstandingly good girl mark, but I think she shows promise and will achieve that score. Especially if she speaks, "Daddy!"
She sleeps well? Usually her sleep in the night is broken by a milk request unless she had a heavy dinner or supper beforehand. She's pretty much pampered in the sense she has a queen-sized bed (she has displaced me from the bed) and usually is snuggled on, under or in between 8 pillows. She hates any blanket, cloth or quilt covering her, though. On the whole, yes, she sleeps well when she wishes to sleep. The problem is getting her to sleep. It's obvious she tries to stay awake as much as possible. You can see her eyes drooping shut then she'll toss her head and pry them open, ay, sometimes even using her fingers to do so.
That's my 16.5 month girl, 하나.

Taking A Liking
I mentioned before how my girl likes to collect taxes. She's really good with the straw now but one day I got to show you what she does to the straw itself.
She also loves to dance. Her dance moves consists of bouncing up and down and swinging the arms. Lately she developed a new move: tapping one foot while waving the oppposite-side arm. Couldn't capture that on pic yet.
The third activity she really likes is playing in her bath tub. There's a 90% probability she'll cry and complaint when you take her out of her tub or even try to take away the shower hose. But the pic captured the rare 10% when she had been satisfied with the duration we let her play in her tub. Hmm... could it be she would like to swim? Got to get her swimwear and find out.
Last but not least... a sneak preview of our princess decked up for the coming CNY 2008.

She's already 14... months
I think I've talked about this several times already, but oh, how time flies.
This time around, I'll show you what has NOT changed. She is still playful, hiding in curtains and behind chairs. She still sleeps with Potion the Bolster. She still sleeps on our shoulders. She still loves to sit n be entertained, only now, it's even on Mommy's chair. Yeah, guilty as charged, I couldn't help mentioning something new after all.

Pictureless
"Pictureless", is there such a word? No idea, but you know what I mean, right?
Hanaa is 14m+ now. Daddy had been trying to post new blog entries but had failed to complete them with pictures due to upload errors. Now, after 2 months of trying, Daddy decided heck, I'll just post it pictureless.
Daddy's girl is now running around and baby talking, or rather baby lecturing. She's got a lot to say for a 8-teeth-only girl who is at once more playful, more demanding and naughtier than back when she had 4 teeth. If number of teeth is an indication of how much talking she will do... let's just say she'll have a mouthful and I'll have an earful.
Hanaa celebrated her 1st Birthday at Sawasde Thai Restaurant in The Summit. She treated Mommy and Daddy's friends and family to a buffet. Some of her guests brought along their juniors so Hanaa could meet more or less eye-to-eye with other princes and princesses.
Since then, Mommy discovered that baby Hanaa loves Elmo's World. An episode of it would be played during Hanaa's mealtime to make feeding easier. Hanaa would stand in rapt attention in front of the TV and is always very vocal about showing her displeasure should anyone try to distance her from the screen.
She has also become a very active tax enforcer. When Mommy or Daddy holds a bottle of cold drink, say 100 plus or green tea, she'll demand her share of it by waving her arms and pointing to the bottle saying, "Aaahh aaahhhhh" or some other command. We'll then put a straw to it and she'll sip... sip...sip. Her tax rates are high, she takes quite alot.
More updates soon, hopefully with pics. Stay tuned.
